Launch new.space

It's free, no credit card necessary.

What is new.space?

new.space is the easiest, fastest way to securely share links, notes, and files, get feedback, and plan what’s next. Use a single Space — with everything side-by-side — to tame the chaos of tabs, docs, videos, and files spread across too many apps and services.

new.space is available in your browser everywhere and your iPhone. It is free to use anonymously, to create short-lived spaces to share with anyone. Create a free account to make spaces that do not expire, and upgrade to Space+ to share up to 100GB of content.

Is there an iOS app?

Yes. Visit new.space/app to download new.space for iOS from the App Store

Is there an Android app?

new.space is a PWA (progressive web app) and can be installed to your Android homescreen right from Chrome.

Is there an iPad app?

While new.space for iOS will install and run on an iPad, the best experience today is to install the PWA (progressive web app) at new.space to the iPad’s homescreen.

To install new.space to your iPad’s Home Screen, first visit new.space in Safari on your iPad. Tap the system share button and select “Add to Home Screen”. After doing so, you’ll see the new.space icon on your iPad next to all your other apps.

How do I create a new shared space? Do I need an account?
  • Open a new browser tab and visit new.space to get a fresh space. That’s it; no signup or account is required.
  • You can add links to articles, photos from a recent trip, or documents to discuss in your next meeting – a space can contain any type of content. Plus, everything added to a space is end-to-end encrypted. We cannot see the content you are sharing.
  • Signing up for a free account will allow you to see all of your spaces on all of your devices and will allow you to create spaces that do not expire.
How do I create a new.space account?

It’s easy to create an account on new.space. On the web, when inside a space, open the sidebar by clicking on the icon in the upper-left-hand corner. In the sidebar, you can sign up for an account by clicking “Continue with Apple” to link your iCloud account to new.space. Otherwise, click “Continue with Mail” to create an account using your email.

It’s just as easy on iOS. First, download our iPhone app from the App Store. After opening the app, tap on “Sign in with Apple” to link your iCloud account to new.space. Otherwise, tap on “Sign in with Email” to create an account using your email.

What is a Login Key?

Your Login Key is very, very important. It’s a secret key used to decrypt your account information when signing in to new.space on a different device, such as when you sign in to new.space on a different browser or when signing in to our iOS app.

You must keep your Login Key safe and private. We recommend saving it to a password manager like 1Password or Bitwarden. Or, you can save the Login Key card to your computer’s hard drive, your iPhone’s Files app, or a cloud drive product like iCloud Drive.

When you first create an account on new.space, we prompt you to save your Login Key somewhere safe. If you want to view or save it later, you can always access it inside our apps. On new.space, open settings by clicking on your account button in the sidebar. Then, click on Login Key Card to view your Login Key or save it. In our iOS app, open settings by tapping on your account button. Then, tap on Account Options and Login Key Card to view your Login Key or save it.

Who makes new.space?

new.space is built by Shareup, a team of 8 in Europe: Adam, Alex, Anthony, Hanna, Julius, Nathan, Sashko, and Vova.

How is “new.space” pronounced?

We say “new dot space.”

We think it’s a nice, easy name that rolls off the tongue, but we’re also fine if people call us “new space”… even though we think “new dot space” sounds better! 😉

What is the difference between Shareup and new.space?

Shareup is the company and new.space is our first product.

Our official company name is “Shareup Software Corporation”, and we think the act of sharing serves as the best indicator of the importance of a note, file, or link, which is why we put the word “share” in our company’s name.

new.space is our first product. It’s is the easiest, fastest way to securely share links, notes, and files, get feedback, and plan what’s next. It’s a new way to share — a new space for collaboration.

There are three ways to download content:

  • Choose Download when viewing an item
  • Choose “Download all”
  • Select the items you want to download, then choose “Download”
How do I share one piece of content from a space? Can I share one item from a space?

You can copy the URL to directly link (or deep link) to an item in a space. Anyone with a direct link to an item in a space will have access to every item in the space. All sharable links include the information necessary to join and access the entire space.

If you really only want to share that single item and nothing else, we recommend creating a dedicated space for it. You can do this easily in the iOS App by long-pressing the item and choosing “Copy to Space“.

How do I delete content from a space?

Enter selection mode, choose the items to delete, then choose “Delete”

Who has access to a space? Who can access my shared content?

Can I allow read-only access to a space? Can I restrict access by email address?
  • Spaces created by an Account can be Locked by the Account who owns the space. Locked Spaces are read-only.

Brainstorms

What is a Brainstorm?

A Brainstorm is an exciting new type of item that can be added to a Space which enables users to ask questions and gain insights about content within a Space. It is powered ChatGPT or Claude...or both!

You enable the Brainstorm feature by adding your API key for ChatGPT and/or Claude, then your device will communicate directly to their APIs and provide insights, summaries, and more. Shareup does not receive your content or questions.

How can I create a Brainstorm?

There are several ways to create a Brainstorm. When you're viewing an item, you can tap the + button in the details view and create one with that item's context already prepared. Additionally, you can create one from the main + menu and select the item(s) you would like to have as a context.

What makes a Brainstorm different than using regular ChatGPT or Claude?

A Brainstorm is special in that it can have the context of multiple items in a Space at once. Brainstorms are also collaborative—everyone in the space can contribute to and read a Brainstorm. Additionally, you can include multiple, different AIs in the same Brainstorm.

Importantly, calling ChatGPT or Claude via their APIs can be much, much cheaper than subscribing to ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro. Additionally, when you use their APIs, both OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude) agree to not use your content to train their AI models. They do not make the same guarantee when you use the ChatGPT or Claude websites and apps directly.

What is an API key?

An API key is a unique set of numbers and letters that identifies your account to another service. It is used as an identifier to ensure that your account data is the one that is being used.

How do I create an API key?

You can create a ChatGPT API key here and a Claude API key here.

Be aware, both OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude) require customers to prepay for services consumed via their APIs. This is a good thing! It means you can feel confident knowing exactly how much money you'll spend for their services. We recommend you prepay $5 to either OpenAI or Anthropic and Brainstorm freely. We think you'll be very pleasantly surprised by how long that money lasts and how much value you get for it!

Do I need Space+ to use Brainstorms?

No. Anyone with a free new.space account can use Brainstorms. You can create a free account here.

While both OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude) do charge to use their APIs, we think you'll find that accessing ChatGPT and Claude via their APIs is much, much cheaper than subscribing to ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro.

Do I need an account to use Brainstorms?

Yes. Anyone with a free new.space account can use Brainstorms. You can create a free account here.

What can I do with Brainstorms?

Brainstorms are very powerful integrations that can do any number of things. Here are a few scenarios and ideas:

  • Imagine you are helping organize a work event and have a Space with the website for multiple venues added as Items. You could create a Brainstorm from the links and find out simply which locations have wheelchair access, parking, or distance from other important locations.
  • Imagine creating a Space for all of the customer feedback you receive over email, social media, or messaging apps like WhatsApp. Simply paste the feedback into the Space or, even better, just take a screenshot of the feedback on your phone and directly send it to the Space using the iOS share sheet. Then, you can Brainstorm replies for the feedback, translate the feedback into your language, or even look for trends over all of the feedback you've received.
  • Imagine traveling and seeing a poster in another language that is interesting. You could take a photo of the poster, add it to a Space and even ask for a valid calendar (ICS) file to be created for the event to put into your calendar.
  • Imagine a busy Space with lots of content being added daily for a project. You could create a Brainstorm and ask it what has happened lately and what is new to get a quick overview.
If I add a Brainstorm to a Space, can OpenAI or Anthropic see the contents of my Space?

When you add an item or items as context to a Brainstorm, information about those items is sent to the AI service providers so that they can answer questions or follow commands about the item(s) you added as context. No information about other item(s) in the space are sent to the AI service providers. Also, if no items are added as context to a Brainstorm, then only the text you directly add to the Brainstorm is sent to the AI providers.

Are the contents of my Space being used to train an AI model?

No, new.space cannot read or process the contents of a Space because everything you add to a Space is end-to-end encrypted. So, we do not and cannot use your data to train any AI models. Additionally, when you use their APIs, both OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude) agree to not use your content to train their AI models.

Who can see Brainstorms in a shared Space?

Everyone in a shared Space can view a Brainstorm. They are collaborative by design!

The Brainstorm didn't respond in a way that is expected, who do I contact about this?

Sorry that happened, please let us know what happened and what went wrong at support@new.space.

I don't use ChatGPT or Claude, can I use a different model?

At the moment, these are the only two models that are supported. If there is a specific model that you would like to see us add, let us know at support@new.space.

What does an average Brainstorm cost?

It's difficult to estimate average costs for Brainstorms because it depends both on how much data you send to the AI service provider and how much data they return to you. That being said, using AI service providers via their APIs instead of subscribing to their "pro" plans is usually much, much cheaper. OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude) both require prepayment, which means you can always feel comfortable knowing exactly how much money you'll spend. We encourage you to prepay $5 to either OpenAI or Anthropic and Brainstorm freely. We think you'll be very pleasantly surprised by how long that money lasts and how much value you get for it!

I can't find the option to create a Brainstorm in the web version of new.space, where is it?

Currently, only the iOS app supports the creation of Brainstorms. You can, however, view the Brainstorms on the web. Stay tuned for updates by subscribing to our newsletter at shareup.world.

Integrations

What integrations does new.space support?

You can connect the following services to new.space to get more details or special interactions.

  • ChatGPT and Claude: create special Brainstorms where you can ask questions about and perform actions on the contents of a Space.
  • GitHub: see a unique pull request card with details from the page.
  • Figma: get better previews of your links to designs.
  • Slack: see recent messages from a specific channel within a Space.
What data is sent to the integration services?

Each integration is a bit different.

For our Anthropic (Claude), Figma, GitHub, and OpenAI (ChatGPT) integrations, all communication with the integrated services happens directly between your devices and the service providers themselves. We at new.space never see any of your personal data. As always, everything added to a space—including all of our integrations—is end-to-end encrypted.

Slack requires a small, anonymous service we run that securely relays requests to Slack's API. We do not store or log any traffic between your device and Slack.

  • ChatGPT and Claude: questions and commands you write in a Brainstorm are sent to OpenAI (for ChatGPT) or Anthropic (for Claude), as well as any items you added as context to the Brainstorm. For example, if you add an image as context to a Brainstorm, a reduced-quality version of that image will be sent to OpenAI and/or Anthropic. If you add a note, PDF, or Word document as context, the text content of the document will be sent to the AI service provider. If you add an link as context, the text content of the website will be sent to the AI service provider. Importantly, this information is only shared with the AI service provider, not with new.space.
  • Figma, GitHub, and Slack: only the original link URL information is sent to Figma, GitHub, and Slack and they respond with more details about the contents for that link URL which is encrypted on device and saved into the space.

Privacy statement: For our Anthropic (Claude), Figma, GitHub, and OpenAI (ChatGPT) integrations, all queries and responses sent between new.space and integration providers' APIs are transmitted securely and directly from your device to the services' API endpoints. Shareup Software Corporation (the makers of new.space) cannot read any of the transmitted data. The data you send to the integration services' APIs are governed by their own privacy and content policies.

Privacy statement for Slack integration: All traffic between new.space and Slack is transmitted securely to our anonymous proxy service and then to the service's API endpoints. Shareup Software Corporation (the makers of new.space) does not store or log any of the transmitted data. The data you send to the integration services' APIs are governed by their own privacy and content policies.

The integration isn't working as expected, how do I report a bug?

First off, sorry that happened. Please write an email describing the problem to support@new.space, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible to try to find a resolution.

Figma previews are not showing up, even after I have connected the Integration. Why is this?

Sometimes the connection with Figma can get interrupted or the API key can expire and needs to be manually refreshed. You can refresh the key by visiting Integrations in our app's settings and choosing to Reconnect to Figma.
